Our "Tropical" Island is a real island , located in the Eagle Lake. You can follow the path on the South side of the lake & will find a bridge leading over to it. It is fun to watch water birds (there are many) flying in and landing along the lake
Fun stuff
Although we can't actually grow any tropicals, there are many plants here that are both rare and tropical looking. Look for hardy true Ginger, hardy Begonias, clumping Bamboo, a hardy African Violet relative, Aralias, Eucomus, and a lot more !
For Sale
Many of the neat plants we show on the island, are for sale in our sales areas.
We are in Zone 6. For any one in a colder zone , we will be happy to consult with you about plants that will grow in your zone.
Fall on the island is fun to see. While the hardy true Ginger stays green for most of the fall, the Cut Leaf Sumac, assumes colors of red, orange & mahogany.
This is a fun place to visit all season.
